They were both growing rapidly in a brand new market. What I am proposing is a solution for low budget OS to have ANY chance against duopoly. If Mozilla would allow painless wrapping Android apps, I bet their platform would be in a different place now. I remember my non-technical friends saying they like Mozilla for price etc, but they won't get it as there is no apps.
The reality is that mobile OS that will offer free IOS/Android wrapper for apps that actually works out of the box will win the market. This way from day 1 there will be enough apps for users to consider switching.
While yes, he achieved a lot, I cannot agree on praising him.
This reminds me of all the marketing gurus from 5 years ago that were selling rich quick schemes. They sold a product, they got rich, but in the end they were scamming regular people.
While Travis is not scamming anyone, the methods are similar. Get rich by exploiting barely legal methods, unethical ways and ride to the fame using someone else money.
I am amazed by how many people take antibiotics for no reason. I have a partner since a year and she used to go to the doctor every time she had the flu. And the doctor, to be on a safe side - prescribed antibiotics every time.
When I showed up I encouraged her to stop taking any antibiotics and build up defence system by taking vitamins and adjusting some bad habits. The first time she had flue it was bad, she had it for 3 weeks and was forced in the end to take antibiotics. Since then she was not sick even once (usually she would be sick every 3 months). Her health improved, her defences are strong and whenever she starts feeling bad she just jumps into the bed for 2-3 hours and get out feeling good. Her bode learned how to defend on her own.
