How can you force stopping development of software?

I don't want to assume it's you at all. Vitamin B is a real thing and there are shitty managers out there but was there anything else going on?

Are you overly sexist? Bitchy? Difficult?

If not use your time to find something better! You probably can't win this game.

One thing you could try: ask everyone on your team in private what you could do to be better.

Perhaps this might shine up something.

I'm not talking special to mrdeepfake.

My argument still makes a point that you can't just forbid it. Someone else will do it anyway

Yes could be.

But you are not worried that this can also act as an entry barrier/gatekeeping thing?

But there is no need for Twitter to allow you to do that for free just because.

From a pure business perspective it's either Twitter dies or Elon pays the bills.

There are plenty of other arguments to make:

While it's already surprisingly good and useful, it still is often not good enough. And we could hit a celling faster than we hope.

And more interesting: just because a lot of people know about it and are able to use it, there are so so much more people who actually don't.

Look on how a lot of companies still struggle with it or digitalization.

As you can't enforce stopping development of it, it is better to also develop it to understand it better and create countermeasures like ml which detects deepfakes.

This also leads potentially to more or better image/video signing Technologie.

And yes just because someone develops this in the open doesn't mean that someone else is not developing it in parallel but hidden.
