True.

But Ukraine is advancing. So they are winning anyway which indicates that something is going wrong on Russia side and it fits the outcome.

I would argue that based on that you can assume that the Story to be more true than just 50/50

Not sure what you think is funny but did you check the contributor list here https://github.com/orgs/ethereum/people ?

From their closet? What? They develop web3 software in the closet?

An open source community can do a lot and not everything.

I'm not aware of any opensource community being happy at doing on call.

Or end customer support.

Or even marketing.

And if we look at successful opensource projects, than we have companies behind them.

I follow plenty of things Google as a company just does due to the money they have.

Undersee cables for example.

Project Zero.

Secure by default.

2FA.

Google even gives you now the option of configuring your ads.

Realistically speaking some entity with a monetary motivation is solving hard problems for us.

Who will solve this issue in web3 and with what motivation?

If it is monetary (as it will be) do I now should start trusting the etherium company instead of Google?

Or should I start trusting 1000 small companies than Google?

I'm quite happy what Google does and I don't know all of those other potential companies.

And who else will then operate the web3 infrastructure?

Instead of the Security team at Google, their ddos service and OnCall experts we have whom now?

Some miners?

Perfectly written Blockchain code?

You sound like those things are just free.

I would not underestimate how critical influence is.

Influence / knowledge how to operate big chains,.how to organize supplier how to do marketing etc.

If you are a smart modern person speaking English also makes it easier for you to stay in your country when you have appropriate job opportunities and a ecosystem which feels adequate.

It's not that I would miss McDonald's if it would disappear were I live bit if a lot more does, I would probably want to migrate away.

I think this is a bad sign for Russia. And IF they are able to recreate what they already had, it will take time and be costly.

Yeah like network of trust with pgp keys.

I'm a big fan of it and joined plenty of signing parties but I will tell you a secret: no one else cares.

No one cares about 2fa, backups, decentralization for decentralization sake, security...

Even the crazy Snowden findings.

They control the whole network if they want.

You make it out as the miners would not own the Blockchain which is just wrong.

And it's not that you can run a node, you actually should run a node.

After all decentralization doesn't work if only big players own it.

But now you need to be tech savvy as you said it yourself.

And every Blockchain has this problem and the fact that there are many Blockchains makes this eve worse.

Conventional systems don't tell you all the time how they save the trust issue.

And conventional systems are old and grown and have a ton of security features and is still getting finetuned.

I had to uninstall it because this particular format made me quite addicted very fast.

And it might contain creative things but enough is very repetitive.

I'm totally lost on your statement.

So you try to use this tech for tech sake?

Independent if there is already an existing solution?

A project is trying to add Blockchain technology into a project I'm working with. Just that the Blockchain is owned by some company and that company was publicly asking people I don't know if they are able and motivated to operate a node for them.

This for example sounds way more complex than just creating a company which has the purpose of being the trust Anker, implemented with technology like CA, contracts etc.

So what are real use cases in your opinion?

Something which really need crypto/Blockchain and is really trustworthy?

Something which doesn't break the trust Anker of a Blockchain by having any dependency outside of a Blockchain.
