"so long as the Attorney General certifies that a particular set of information is useful for reasons of national security. Then, the NSA asks the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to order that a company comply."
I would assume it would be pretty hard to go through those steps with "any reason", no?
I like thinking most people are somewhat honest, and I wouldn't see anyone from Intel. use a 'favor credit' with an AG for some random telephone data.
I agree 100% to your points.
This is incredible how aggressive this post is, literally saying how stupid we are for not liking what EA do and how wrong we are.
No explanation on what they are going to do, and argumentation worst than an 8th grader "LOL WE HAVE PEOPLE ON ORIGIN SO ITS BETTER THAN STEAM"
no it's not, I play BF3 and wished it was on steam and not origin.
I mean, I PLAYED, because, it's so full of bugs and a pain in the ass just to launch a game with my friends, I never gave them money for the addons...
Really cool project, I backed! I love colorful socks, but it's always hard to balance between h&m cheap socks that last 2 cleanings, or my favorite socks from Pink, but being 30$ a pair, I keep them as gift ideas from others...
hopefully you'll bring quality :)
I would like to top that. I'm Canadian and have been in SF for less than 3 months and I can see already all the advantages of being here while working the the tech industry. Even more when founding your own startup...
The value to have so many people connected to so many other people, with the culture of helping each other... Just that allows you to get jobs, funding or anything else an infinite time easier than anywhere else.
I really have no idea where in Canada we are supposed to have that; But it's definitely not in Toronto or Montreal :)
And Free Health care? Health Care is paid by any startup you'll work for now, and even if not, I'ld rather pay my own insurance for 300$/month and pay 30% taxes, than having health care and pay 55% of taxes on half the salary I would make :)
I still love Canada, I lived in Montreal for 10 years, don't get me wrong. My only point is that I personally think in that particular industry, we're better of in SF or NYC!
Boots get recruited and love what they do. Start-ups are happy about them and ask for more.
I don't see what else to say, it's a win-win, so the program is a total success.
I guess some (not-so-skilled) people are feeling uncomfortable for their jobs.
I used to love and read a lot Altucher... but the more you know him the more you realize he is like a pop singer. He is more of a romance writer than anything else and writes what sales. Sure he brings a lot of motivation and hope to anyone who wants to achieve something in his life. But the rest is a lot of nice words making the whole appear super brilliant, but in fact empty.
I find it extremely sad to see companies that we are supposed to respect like Google for example, not accepting any competition anymore.
The aim of any company is trying to answer and fix complicated problems to create wealth out of that problem. Fixing a hard problem offer some assurance that others won't be able to fix that problem, hence allowing you some advantage and creating the wealth you expected.
But for a few years now, all we hear about is not anymore technology advance or revolution, it's just every company doing the same thing and trying to destroy the others by finding some patent complain they can sue about.
Every single time company A sues company B for patents infringement, it's either BS and then the lawsuit goes nowhere and you can be sure company B will instantly fill itself a patent suit against company A; The defense is offence right?
Or the lawsuit is legitimate, and instead of just hoping to get back what they seem to deserve, the suing company always seeks the termination of the whole company...
that's just sad, because we used to see Google as an example for startups we build, in the culture, the way to manage. But this kind of behavior, which will cost them more than what they'll get in return anyway, is just sad...
Do you really think Apple will be stopped from importing its products in the US? What Google/Motorola expect from this? That it passes and Apple slowly dies because of the loss of the US market?
Are you planning on hiring juniors soon? I'll go throught dev bootcamp from oct to dec, and would love to come to nyc un january :)
I have some of the experiences you are talking about, so I would love to talk with you !
I would assume it would be pretty hard to go through those steps with "any reason", no? I like thinking most people are somewhat honest, and I wouldn't see anyone from Intel. use a 'favor credit' with an AG for some random telephone data.
Am I being too innocent? :)
