Screenwriters re-write portions of scripts all the time, yet are rarely granted writing credit on the script. Every hollywood script has had at least 4-5 writers on it, yet only one of them gets the credit and the royalties. How that's decided, I honestly don't know, but there were stories about the producer's girlfriends getting more writing credits than screenwriters in the 50s and 60s.
Now if there were only a way to automate the showing up, preparing the paper work, competing against other bidders, and the remainder of the apartment leasing process.

They also do this in a TV series called "Charlie Jade." In the show there are three known universes and each has its own distinct color and hue. You know which one you're looking at by the color change alone. It really helps keep the universes (and by extension, the timeline and story) straight.

If something seems to good to be true, it usually is. When somebody writes an article alleging something too stupid to be believable, maybe you should be asking what the author has to gain by misrepresenting the truth?

That's easy: it's influential. They started with the schools, then moved on to the universities. Next was hollywood, then the media. Every avenue of public debate in this country has fallen in line with the diversity shakedown. The internet is next precisely because it's the last influential arena where you can say what you want without fear of reprisal (for the most part). It's part of why the feminists have launched such an aggressive campaign against gamergate and gamers in general. They won't be bullied.

I don't see it that way. I read those comments and there's very little vitriol in there. There's a lot of legitimate counter arguments being made that are being flag killed. You're essentially being grateful that HN's moderation is stifling any attempt at disagreement with their own political views.
I sympathize with both sides. It does frustrate me as well, but if the interviewers did that, people would stop agreeing to do interviews with them. It effectively prevents the interviewee from controlling the narrative, which is the only reason to agree to an interview in the first place.
Have you ever tried to program a controller? It's hard too. You need special hardware, special software and know how to connect them all up. It's not just copying and pasting code from the internet. It's sufficiently discouraging for those who think microwaves are wireless battery chargers. :)

Couldn't the same case be made for doing your own mechanic work, though? We have braking, which is hydraulic and throttles which operate by wire. There's nothing preventing you from replacing the tried and true hydraulic brakes with something that runs on bluetooth. That would be just as dangerous as messing with the software of modern car brakes. More so, since one would hope modern car software has some failsafes built in[0].
[0]: they probably don't, but I know Sevcon does. Sevcon is a company that makes electric vehicle controllers for EV vehicles. They're popular with the DIY e-motorcycle crowd. Messing with the settings directly affects the power delivered to the motor.
A framework must CALL YOU. It usually gives you a piece of code that loads itself and lets you customize what it does by passing your code/configs to it. Then you tell it to run with what you gave it. The parts of the framework that you call yourself are actually "plug-ins" or basically framework-specific libraries.

It used to be that people who bought property became owners.
Depending on who you ask, that stopped being the case the minute states started charging property tax. It's not yours, you just rent from the government. With the addition of zoning laws, it's hard to argue with that interpretation.
You can't sell a cow, put a 40 page long shrink-wrap license on the gate, and claim thus the milk or offspring are yours.
If Monsanto could prove the cow was GMO and their intellectual property, they could do almost exactly that. At the very least, they could put an injunction on the sale of cows and milk until they could verify if a patent had been broken. During which time, the farm would most likely go under.
The owners are obliged to leave a path open so the public can access the beach.
Can you be held liable in Brazil for things that happen on your property? For example, if somebody hurts themselves on the path, can they then sue you?
I don't know the pertinent CA laws, but in NY you can be fined for not shoveling snow off of your sidewalk and you are required to keep the sidewalk in good repair. If the sidewalk is broken and somebody trips, you can get fined by the city and/or sued by the ankle breaker. If it needs to be replaced, you're expected to do it yourself with your own money or be fined.
I'm US based and I've been taking things apart for 25 years. I've seen hex, torq, hell nintendo used those weird Y screws for a while. Had to google Posidriv and I've never seen one of those used here. Everything is Phillips.
