This requires the assumption that storage will continue to exponentially (or at the very least, linearly) decrease in cost. It also requires a certain amount of good luck. I would hope the IA has a reasonable amount of data resilience, but you never know.

No, it's a gmail-specific "feature". Other mail services may also implement it, I guess.

HTML5 canvas was where I wrote my first game, it has a relatively simple API, once you've copied the boilerplate from somewhere.

Nope, that actually 404's. It may appear to work, because most browsers will apply some equivalent to the `__fdio_cleanpath()` function mentioned in the article, resolving the traversal locally.

You can verify this as follows:

    curl -I --path-as-is 'https://github.com/fuchsia-mirror/docs/blob/master/the-book/../../master/the-book/dotdot.md'

Option 1 has been done before:

(In this case, the tangible benefits are highly debatable, especially since we moved on from CRT monitors - although I'd be interested to see data from OLED displays)

Dithered images do not compress well. I'd be interested to see side-by-side comparisons of optimised pngs, optimised jpeg, reduced-pallete optimised pngs, and some more cutting-edge formats like BPG[0] and FLIF[1]

In that form factor? Unlikely.

My guess would be somewhere around PS3/360 performance, perhaps with better graphics.
