This is a fantastic first result. I wonder why we aren’t seeing that many ML being applied to large energy industries yet. It makes perfect sense from every angle. You can get measurably better results and thus it should be an easy sell for dev teams.

It’s great to see smart new inventions being made when programmers switch to a, seemingly, extremely low-tech business. Are there more examples of programmers who made a similar leap?
Depends on the type of person. For some it’s the only way to have a sense of control over ones own destiny. Others who lack the discipline to always be selling and pushing forward are better off sticking to their current role.
It is. Going deeper into particular topics or having folks share additional resources has been incredibly valuable. The lectures serve as conversation-food and not the 'core' of the experience here. That's the premise of the experiment.
