I think it's because the LLM asked for permission, was given a "no", and implemented it anyway. The LLM's "justifications" (if you were to consider an LLM having rational thought like a human being, which I don't, hence the quotes) are in plain text to see.
I found the justifications here interesting, at least.
Sure they teased that they've made their own solution, but I think Junxions should scratch the itch of most of us here interested in this kind of game.
I loved my T430s. I swapped the keyboard out for a backlit one, and took out the DVD drive and replaced it with a hot swappable second battery. I was running Ubuntu MATE on it, it worked very well for me. The ThinkLight was also great.
I now have a second hand T480s which is also a wonderful machine, but not as amazing as that T430s. I gave my T430s to my mother who uses it to run software (albeit via Windows now) for her sewing machine.
The way these kinds of fonts work is that you don't host the font, they do. You link the font licence you purchased through your HTML code (or CSS, depending on how the foundry recommends you to apply the font) with a specific font URL that they provide you, which will contain unique identifiers. Then they can track how often the font gets loaded.
If your site really kicks off and you max out those visits per month (that they track on their end), they either start charging you the higher tier, cut off loading your font, or send you stern emails.
There is no expectation that you share your analytics with a type foundry.
A pretty interesting proposition if you are into cinematography with your mirrorless cameras.
