You know what? This generalization of what is good and bad for you - is just a generalization to find a common food product which is easily mass producible and consumable by the entire planetary populace. However, just as shirts are tailored, I believe we may be entering an age of tailored foods for 7 billion + individuals. MSG can depend on who you are, how old, what else do you eat, are you on a plane. We will get there. Quick! Somebody make an app and Hadoop it.
You should get it soon and get it out of your system. At first you will want all the apps. Then likely none or very few. And you may only end up using apps that help overcome the inefficiencies of our society until those "wasteful" outdated systems are replaced. We should tend toward no apps. Or put another way, "The best user interface is no user interface."
They were found using monopolistic tactics to crush Netscape Navigator. Bill Gates et al were the decision makers. The web browser and Internet are a threat to closed proprietary operating systems like Windows and iOS where applications run exclusively rather than cross platform. Windows used to be where most all applications run. Apple iOS now has the same situation and you will notice Apple less and less happy to help applications run in a web browser and will continue to update Safari iOS less. But it was Microsoft that was found guilty in court for monopolistic anticompetitive actions.
I think it's funny now that if you sell an operating system where you want to talk about number of apps on your OS how important it is those apps cannot run on another system. The low hanging fruit of apps that can easily be written as a web app run on every operating system thus giving no advantage to a proprietary operating system and really enable smaller indie developers.
Microsoft is paying for its past sins, Apple is locking you up and being anticompetitive now, Google is ad spamming you, and I guess Facebook.
Everybody is trying to make a buck. Sometimes the DoJ gets involved. See Microsofts recent efforts to get DoJ after Google :)
I've had the Nexus 4 for over a week now. For me the glass shattered where the speaker hole is located. I checked the mall everyday for a Nexus 4 case. Pretty annoying. Aside from that I really love the phone and 4.2. There should be cases available the day you buy a new phone though.
There aren't too many of those at my house. The IE debate ends at a single vendor's operating system. All other browsers run almost on any platform they are allowed.
I concur with the responses to my post. NS4 was horrible. Mac IE5 was really nice.
My point was Microsoft advanced and got out in front and won and discouraged the browser market and many web developers. Web applications started to compromise on features.
MS always has/had really great engineers. MSDN is great too.
But we should thank Mozilla developers for overcoming the discouragement and freeing us from that stagnation.
The MS IE team should thank Mozilla and the Chrome team also.
