I unfortunately have horrible experience with Amplify as well.
Their official tutorial (something a long the line of "how to run a web app in hour") has several mistakes that cost me a whole day. It is very unprofessional that such an important document was not proofread properly.
My father has just been diagnosed with stomach cancer, so I am going through a similar journey.
I am not sure which country you are in, but there might be government programs that partially subsidies a personal carer for your mother. I believe UK has it. It might be worth looking into these programs to hire someone (could be a family member) and offload some tasks from you.
24 hours ago, my dad has just been diagnosed with Stage II stomach cancer. This is by far the worst news I have ever received in my life so far.
What makes it worse: my dad is in China but I am a non-Chinese citizen living in North America. It is very time-consuming for me to even get a China Visa. I heard that unless my dad is gravely ill (ICU etc.) my Visa will be denied.
Suffice to say I have no motivation to work today.
