> I'm not sure why anybody would generate UUIDs in browsers though, it seems to defeat the purpose.

How about for offline-first apps?

Nice game. My results for the day:

The hedge fund one really got me.

The sounds fit nicely but a way to turn them off quickly from the menu could be nice. I couldn't find an option for that. Not a big deal though.

How'd you design the site btw? Looks good!

I mean isn't that what show HN is for? Plus wasn't just hype, I was generally interested in getting more info on the SEO side of this project.

I've had a lot of nice people try out my own projects and leave comments in the past and it meant a lot to me so I'm just trying to pass that forward.

Nice and simple. Might just be me but a way to move groups of tiles on the board could be helpful, I accidentally started building too low down and had to move everything at one point.

Interesting idea. Since it costs (at the moment) less than a dollar to post a message, does that still work well with Stripe?

I'm always a bit worried about making super low priced services myself with Stripe, mainly cause I've heard that's a common target for credit card testing fraud, but interested to hear your thoughts.

Really cool. Makes me excited to see other uses for smart glasses in the future.

That's really neat. I think it would be a lot more popular if there were more locations we could draw on, but I get why it takes time to add new ones.

Makes me wonder if something similar to this exists but just more of a "draw all over the globe" type of thing. No street view, just satellite view

Right after running the software and seeing your own name pop up:

Wow really nicely built site and great story behind it.

I'd imagine you didn't just publish it in 2017 and magically start gaining traffic. Any good marketing tips learned along the way? It must've been tough at first since this type of game seems to get more fun the more players you have.

Anywhere I could read more about how you got your first users and such? I'm about to launch another one of my own web projects and marketing is always the toughest part.

This is a cool idea, I think I'll do the same thing for my own project once it's released. Great way to show all the small improvements our brains find when we spend enough time staring at something.

I first read this blog post about a year ago I think. It was a bit after I started developing my own personal productivity app. It got me really excited because my philosophy is extremely similar, and it seems to resonate with people.

I'm still working on the app today but planning to get it out into the world in the new year. I think anyone who enjoys this notepad technique will find it quite familiar but just "powered up" maybe.
