The onus is on you to prove the claim that AI is equivalent or better.

But if you're not a troll, from the very fucking start of it there was a boom of products. Like it's practically the definition of it. Are you seriously thinking that they just burned a bunch of coal for fun?

Where is the glut of food and consumer products from AI?

Do you think that happened bloodlessly with everyone very happy about it?

The industrial revolution came along with massive production of goods that people need and desire. Even then, there was still a huge amount of pushback (it still echoes in a lot of communities today!).

Do you see any differences compared to the AI revolution we're being sold?

It's insane to me that this isn't the default view. How are you supposed to follow the law if you don't know what it is? Putting a price on it just makes it is basically criminalizing being poor.

Which is what we arguably have already considering the state of public defenders, jail, bail system, and how often the rich get off scot free for their crimes.

I think there are clear benefits to having neighbors and your general community not lead poisoned.

So yeah, I think that cost should be split among the entire municipality.

I find it interesting that you have such a libertarian viewpoint on the one... But not the other. Is this not a direct government monopoly?

> work which burns through money repeating things we already know (racism is bad! poor people are sicker!) and accomplishing exactly nothing

Why do we need to study the sun? We already know it goes around the Earth.

Flippant, but the point should be clear. Some of the most taken for granted things can also be the ones least studied... And least understood. Wouldn't you like to know why being poor leads to worse outcomes? Perhaps confounding factors?

Are the new jobs in the room now?

Or perhaps they're somewhere in West Virginia.

I feel like AI fails the XY problem constantly. And it's one thing that I know people hated so much on Stack overflow.

Why not when it's so trivial?

Maple syrup is a big one. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been to even fancy breakfast restaurants and had real maple syrup.

Cracker barrel used to, decades ago now. It's all garbage corn syrup now. I'd rather not have syrup at all than that cloying, thick, gross stuff.

Auditing is assumption of blame or responsibility to another party.

They are incentivized to strike the best balance of certifying (who wants to go to a place that never certifies) and validity (rubber stamp mills reflect the blame).

Yes, it is meant to be adversarial, to a point.

I imagine it goes over about as well as trying to get people to be more vegetarian.

Protein has become pretty tightly associated in culture with healthy.

Why would anyone spend time reading something that someone couldn't even spend the time to write themselves?

People have seen others make insane, life changing money at this slot machine and are wanting to take their chances.

There are no fundamentals.

There is very low signal to the noise.

I download an attachment from a colleague. I edit it and save it. I try to send the updated file back via outlook... And it says the file is not available.

This is one of the most basic operations that people do! Why does it not work?

Why would I need to go back in and tell it to keep it locally for when it was local in the first place!?

It's absolutely inane shit like this that drives me up a wall with Microsoft. Do these people use their own products?

OneDrive is awful.

Why are my files I created on my local device not on my device

That is a complete distraction from Meta in particular selling social media hard to kids even knowing that their work explicitly caused mental harm.

This is not a I own stock am I culpable issue, it is a company knowing their product is dangerous and ignoring the issues because it doesn't make them more money.

Same shit as the tobacco industry. People do banally evil shit for money.
