the only thing that has been stopped me watching youtube is stopping my premium sub and seeing all those ads every 5s, drives me crazy enough to stop watching all together

since when we do politics on HN ? those discussions are not going to resolve anything, maybe we should stick to you talk about hacker news ?

but that's different, strava is more like a social platform, intervals.icu is more about a training and progress platform.

I enjoy strava just because the people on there (my friends and family) motivate me, not because I like to get bigger power/hr numbers

I bought a top end pinarello last year which has (obviously because there is no other choice) some disc brakes, and I hate them so much compared to my oldest bike with rim brakes which was fine and working well.. the disc brake needs so much maintenance compared to the rim brakes and make so much annoying noise, i always need to make sure to have them right by the milimeter and make sure when you transport the bike and remove the wheel to block them or they would start to misaligned, this thing is such a ripoff.....

I need to add that i never had any issues with my rim brakes while descending long mountain downhill.. it may brake a bit less than the disc brakes when wet but i just need to make careful and anticipate my braking more... but it's raining so I should make careful anyway!!!!

(context: i am a old grumpy european cyclist who lives by the alpes and does around 5/7k of road cycling a year for the last 10/15 years)

as an author of a gnome extension who doesn't use gnome anymore but have users of that gnome extensions it's getting pretty annoying to do all that extra work on every release!

i mean i can understand once in a while to have to update things but not have to do this every 6 months!

strava had manual mode forever fyi......

I have the three services and I too think strava is by far better than all others (i do around 20k cycling a year and i am the one in charge of making routes for my cycling club)

trainingpeaks haven't seen proper dev since like 2017, except for a little css facelift i think. The only reason athlete uses it is because coach uses it and coach uses it because tp sugarcoat them.

i think stumpwm has some kind of "which-key" mode.... which is i think what you are looking for, and of course there is always exwm that can do *anything*

I got the same all the time in US immigration (flying to texas) they ask me thousands of personal questions about my family, my universities, if I am gay or bisexual??? I think people need to take a good look at US immigration too,

I think github support came out a year and half after the feature was available in git (nov 2021), so that may going to be a while :(

we have been using openshift at work and it has been relatively troublesome, to be honest when we have infrastrcuture (which is not often) we just have some redhat consultant fixing it.

can't you get away with just composing the structs, sure not exactly the same but does a good job still

always using brew on linux/osx, I wish they were supporting shipping binary /cask on Linux like on OSX (only recompiling)

going down an alpine pass on a bicycle, being in complete control of my road bike, taking a bend perfectly while looking at the scenery by the side of my eye...

why don't you give this company a chance? I am sure there is room for innovation even if it's non oss it's fine along it's something new.

I'd like to see what kind of innovation they can bring to dotfile management.

I keep most of my important dotfile configuration in a private repo managed by stow/syncthing, but the management gets old after a while and the git commit -am "update" gets old after a while..

These days at least around Paris (and I mean le grand paris not just inside paris) it takes over 5 month to get a appointment for a Passport or a National ID. They say it's because of the pandemic but i much rather be in the US to renew my passport if i had to.
