For what it’s worth, I’ve found using Perplexity Pro (with Claude 3 Opus) to exceed the accuracy of asking a non-expert armed with Google Search and a few minutes of time.

Seems like this could be suitable for masochists like me who wish to run language models on retro computers :)

Does this have potential for running on an SBC? Mine only has 2GB of RAM and I'm interested in running a toy language model on it.

I asked ChatGPT about why I should use NetBSD instead of Linux, and for me the reasons of performance and portability don't hold up because Linux is more performant and more compatible with my hardware.

I can see why some might appreciate the simplicity of the base system and the design of pkgsrc but the former seems to be more in line with OpenBSD than NetBSD and its legacy cruft.

I'll take a look and see if the same effects can be achieved with Affinity Photo

Any experience with this? I would suspect that it would work with GTK2, but not for current GTK3/4.

Old Intel Mac Minis are great for this purpose. Easily found on eBay, and consume less power than most Intel desktops of the same vintage.
