Between all-purpose generic islamic terrorism (from Thailand to Phillipines to India to Middle-East to Paris to Belgium to London to USA), and black lives matter terrorism, the US needs a reboot.
This is that reboot.
Another brown indian dude here. I love western culture and society. I love the innovation, the science and the secularism. I'm sick of the left trying to convert it into a faux third world.
For example: I teach at a university. This semester, there's a woman walking around campus in a burka. In the freaking US of A, a woman is walking around with a burka. WTF is wrong with these people?
Exactly this. People are trying to sway the discussion with "single mother" and "mexican" implying that "people of color who make unfortunate choices" should somehow be exempt from the uniform and fair application of laws.
ICIM: I'm a "person of color who's made a lot of unfortunate choices" ;=D
Back a couple of decades ago in India. I was working for an American telecoms co. I grew pally with an HR manager. He showed me the background on a new hire. The new hire was the son of a mid-level government official cum career civil servant in a dept that oversaw the telecoms industry.
I saw the letter Daddy wrote ON HIS OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT LETTERHEAD... addressed to the head of the Indian division of the telcoms co... recommending his own son for a job.
My point? It's not just rich kids. It's also well connected kids. In high-regulation environments, government officials, although they may not be rich, have the highest access.
