People don't respect the chasm between "obviously no mistakes" and "no obvious mistakes".

This should go without saying but unfortunately it really doesn't these days:

This kind of corporate behavior is bad and will end up hurting somebody. If we're lucky the fallout will only hurt Nvidia. More likely it will end up hurting most taxpayers.

0d (parked) - null program easy

1d (train) - easy. just one lever

2d (car) - hard. super hard. why is it so crowded? who thought this was a good idea? you let teenagers do this?

2.5d (plane at takeoff or landing) - almost as hard as car. fewer pedestrians.

3d (plane flying) - easy even with all those extra levers

I've had the exact same feeling. I think this is some latent cultural zeitgeist that more people are starting to notice.

My thought was to start a "philosopher's club", for Platonic friendships. Right now it's just me and one neighbor meeting every 2 weeks for coffee, but I think an ideal size might be around 3-4 "regulars" plus 2-5 sporadic attendees. Big enough to get boisterous but small enough to carpool.

Gravity-oriented shooter where you fight on tiny planets with primitive weapons.

Because the "planets" are so small, gravity and Coriolis forces influence projectiles: hitting the enemy often requires shooting over the horizon, or relying on the planet's rotation so your spear lands in the right place.

Running fast or jumping off a tall structure can put you into low orbit. Planet sizes range from about the volume of a house to the volume of a skyscraper. Planet shape influences your tactics - cube planets have less gravity near the corners, spinning ringworlds let you jump from one side to the other, etc.

In the cartoon show Invader Zim, the alien civilization uses height (and only height) to select its leaders. The older I get, the more I wonder if this was satirical.

Somebody needs to make a recursive acronym in the shape of the Ackermann function.
