Any Europeans here? How would you approach investing in such an ETF? I've heard investing in iShares Core S&P 500 UCITS ETF (Acc) based in Ireland is a good way to avoid paying US estate and dividend taxes, as the only tax you pay is the trade deal %15 dividend tax between US and Ireland, but I guess dividend reinvesting ETFs avoid this tax. As far as I know there is also no capital gain taxes. Would appreciate if anyone here could give an advice!
This. Rewarding myself with something small when I achieve a small goal not only recharges me but also makes me work harder. Small rewards that work for me are drinking coffee with someone (or other socialising activity), exercising, playing a video game or watching a movie.
I fully agree about the FOMO part and would add that this also drives “competition” in those experiencing it by making them try to also look “interesting” and on their part causing FOMO in someone else. This also reduces the actual enjoyment in a specific activity and promotes seeking validation and trying to look like you are having fun without it being the case which fuels more dissatisfaction.
You could easily restrict access to different mutations and queries using standard JWT. I'd say restricting parts of a query is a bit trickier because you would have to make explicit checks for the user context when extracting the data you want to be restricted. Other than that, you could pretty much use all kinds of standard authentication as you would use with REST, I've used JWT the most.
I've heard people say redux and apollo do not work well together because they are both essentially state management libraries, but I've used them both for different things in a UI and they can be a good "team". For example, I've used apollo for mainly storing and sending data in regards to APIs, while redux for just UI related things like modals, prompts, etc.
Please just stop justifying those politicians by saying that "they have no idea how the internet works". They understand it perfectly fine. EU is going into an iron curtain and this law is just for conveniently putting people into jail whenever they decide. They won't of course chase after every "offensive" content, but only the one that poses a threat to them. For reference Tommy Robinson.
I am from the EU (Bulgaria) and I definitely understand what you mean. People in the US are way more woke and in my experience better team players than people in the EU. I’ve worked with people from most EU countries and they tend to be somewhat more conservative and it feels like they alienate from each other easily when in a team. Don’t get me wrong you still get things done but I’ve had way more connection talking to my colleagues in the US and the atmosphere is more liberating. I think that Eastern Europe is definitely closer to the US way of thinking than Western. I highly recommend you first move to say Prague or Sofia and see if you like it, then aim for the US. Hey we might even have a beer at some point!
