If you read carefully, the article meant that by accepting 'the hard truth' you have more chance to change.

Quotes:

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”

Paradoxically, accepting that you’re just not a confident person and you’re always going to feel a little off around other people will begin to make you feel more comfortable and less anxious around others.

> If you're getting brute forced, learn how to set up and run blocklistd or fail2ban.

What about updating OS/packages/CVE when on holiday? Note that many CVEs are usually sent only to top-tier providers.

> See popular apps: Amazon, Bumble etc …nobody's on device app title reflects the apps functionality, they just use their brand name)

Whether or not it is correct/ethical but do not compare your app to Amazon. They are different, big, <add much more>.

My only guess is some one made a clone of your app; and is perhaps 'reporting' your app. And Google's AI is responding to you. (And if you are regular hn user... you know the results, sadly).

Automatic backups do not include any images or videos. They remain just unencrypted.

> Many non-tech people I know that are not aware of this have just come to terms with the fact that phone storage just runs out quicker than it did before, and old phones just lag at 2am for mysterious reasons.

Non-tech people get pissed when one smiley message is lost. So for all non-hn people automatic backups are a boon. I know this as we run a free repair-cafe - and help people migrate data from old phones.

Sadly people with such opinions work at slack/salesforce putting up walls (becoming totally incompatible to IRC) locking user data.

I know few universities that still use static ipv4 for computer pools. The admins claim easy for us to monitor for misuse.

Perhaps it is SMR drive. Ubuntu or linux is generally poor at sleeping USB. Ubuntu always mounts at /media/username/drivename - I am sure something is wrong with your setup.

you are absolutely right. Even a google employee uses lineageos to avoid tracking but I am sure they deliver the code to millions of innocent...

While these are appreciated, why not create 2 Google accounts and dump the MP3s in there?

What a strange ToS:

We can also change the fees for our services (other than those you have already contracted and paid for) at any time if we give you notice.

10.2 make you pay, on demand, default interest on any amount you owe us at 10% per annum calculated on a daily basis, from the date when payment was due until the date when payment is actually made by you. You will also need to pay all expenses and costs (including our full legal costs) in connection with us trying to recover any unpaid amount from you.

In circumstances where we cease providing our services for other reasons, we will, if we consider it appropriate, it is reasonably practicable and we are not prevented by law or likely to incur any liability in doing so, give you 30 days' notice to retrieve your data.
Not sure 10.2 is legal in EU?

ideally true. The issue is common person expects things to 'Just Work' - means read/allow contacts.
