Make babies, and compilers.

They trained on my code, joke's on them now!

No if you're referring to unions and an enum, it isn't sum types.

That's a ridiculously biased and short sighted opinion.

UE5 is just an evolution of UE4 and the early adopters suffer from being early adopters. Beyond that there is a skill issue in studios shipping less than ideal performances on time constraints.

UE5 is a marvel of modern technology from all angles.

It crashes as soon as you put a little paragraph of text on Apple M2 Pro.

Hard pass.

Why do these half baked projects get all the attention and thousands of clicks when it just takes a simple thing to bring the whole castle down?

Maybe if you spent 2 Billions in tokens instead of 1 Zucky.

I've been doing this for 25 years professionally and let's just say I'm more the 3 coffees, 1 redbull, headphones and bassdrive kind of programmer.

So no, I will not be "meditating". My meditative states tend to be beard stroking and occasional F bomb.

Because at the time of my purchase I mistakenly believed that fan-less was a given for an ARM laptop; and that ARM laptops were a lot more supported than Apple products; some big names were using ARM linux and raving about it.

It's still is a great laptop and I recommend it for the hardware overall, but not fan-less indeed.

I recently tried to get BSD/Linux to work on my omnibook X 14 and... it's been a journey!

Eventually I got it to work well with [1] and extracted firmware off github because I had wiped Windows and all partitions into oblivion.

I was looking for the bliss of fan-less linux with ARM. The joy! [2]

That's interesting and goes directly against what everyone complains about in the employment sector.

I'm sure there is a big caveat in there somewhere.

Yeap. That's exactly what I meant by not the target audience.

hah I played for an hour this new beta. It's fun. I haven't played for years.

I couldn't workout the train signals though, there are 4 of them and they have a digit as well with them, not sure what's going on there. I'm probably not the target audience :)

It's called ghosted, shadow banned, too sensitive / shitshow; Basically a multiplier of 0.1 is added to this post's ranking, or similar, and it will need thousands of upvote instead of hundreds to show.

It's commonly applied silently to posts that simply don't look good or become a nightmare to manage the narrative of. It's a healthy way to manage a community while looking transparent.

I think it's sucky and cheap, but at the same time it's also the best solution.

I've been around for a long time and I know of him. Most people don't bother looking up where stuff comes from.

No he never hid his identity, if you looked him up, you found his picture.

Satoshi shouldn't be compared, I don't hold bitcoins nor am I interested, but the name is a lore. It was stamped on the original document.

Fabrice Bellard is a real person shipping code; not an internet anonymous identity.

Thanks, that maybe one side of the coin but it's very one-sided. The man is busy innovating and maybe has no time to carry on as he focuses on other projects. But he was there from the start and made it happen.

Most of the code in the linux kernel today is not from Linus.
