Data point of one: WGU's credit transfer appraisers are comically incompetent

I wanted to complete a CS degree there, since I already have a lot of credits from elsewhere, which I officially transferred to WGU. But then they told me I can't be in CS because I don't have pre-Calculus completed. WAIT WHAT? Right there on my transcript, there are completed 'MATH 460 Math Modeling' and '696 Applied Math Project' and 'MATH 394 Probability and Statistics', which all obviously cover pre-Calc, but no - the appraisers think I might not be able to handle Calculus I so they won't let me go to CS (but I'm welcome to do some IT course).

Of course you do have a relationship with characters on a TV show you watch. You know them, you have feelings towards some of them, and they can influence your behavior

>the gravitas house Atreides' arrival seemed to have

I feel they should have had about two orders of magnitude more than that, they're the rulers from the stars, appointed by the emperor, they rule multiple worlds and have interstellar ships, and are some of the most important people in the whole Empire.

This was my biggest disappointment with the movie - they rule many worlds, but it doesn't feel that way from how they're treated. They don't vet even their closest people (like, for real, you don't know your personal doc has his family held hostage by your enemy?). Some mid-level businessmen in Russia probably have better security setup than the House of Atreides; and their posse is more fitting for some aging Hollywood actor. Seriously, they just go move to the new planet, no planetary patrols, border guards, space legions, no nothing - really cavalier about the whole thing, all while fully expecting their rivals to attack. No wonder they got caught with their pants down basically.

> The movie could probably have used a bit more teen angst

So glad it didn't, teenage angst is the most uninteresting thing in the world

by your logic, any ad can be reframed as "a lame suggestion". They're still ads, though, and still very unwelcome. And last time I checked, there wasn't a switch to easily turn them off, completely and permanently.

Ads in start menu? Apps installed without my consent? No, thank you

you can change your battery, of course. Also, it is sometimes possible to buy refurbished 2015 models directly from Apple, which is what I intend to do if September models aren't a serious improvement over current offerings.

Because, even with all current Apple semi-hate, nothing beats usability of OS X. And 2015 MBPs were (are) great.

can't see why this makes him an asshole. Bitter and angry, maybe

A couple of months ago, I started getting notifications for random alibaba crap on my Xiaomi phone. Turns out, there's a system app which sends you ads as push notifs. Switched to iphone the next day, privacy is the killer feature.
