I'm pretty sure the "5 second rule" is just something people (like myself) use to justify doing something gross, such as eating something that was dropped; and at least in my case, I never believed for a minute that it was "sanitary" if it spent less than 5 seconds on the floor.
It's more a mental thing ... if it's only been there for 5 seconds, it's cool. If it is longer than 5 seconds, well, then you're eating food that's been sitting on the floor. Now that I'm typing it, it makes even less sense -- but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop doing it. I've made it 30+ years without side-effect ... ha
Yeah, this wouldn't work. You've now just increased hi-jackers attack surface from "being on the plane" to "anywhere in the entire world" ... very, very dangerous.
I really want to know what happened to that nickel coke machine. I bought a soda from it every time I went, which was often when I was working @ Yodle on W23rd.
Growing up in the NorthEast, I can say I've eaten many random berries, from the ones that grow on forsythia to the pimento looking ones that grow on shrubbery.
I think I've been pretty lucky; however, I did always avoid (wild) mushrooms...
Ah, I have no screen for 4k and am holding off for the time being. I just don't see the cost/benefit paying off for a bit, as I'm still very happy with my first-gen 42" plasma I use in my bedroom @ 720p, though I must admit, vs. the 1080p 50" in my living room, I can't tell much difference anymore, so I'm definitely getting blinder...
Still running an AMD Phenom II x6 1050T ... which is approaching 7 years old ... and oddly, at 2.8GHZ -- just a tad overclocked to 3ghz, it still manages to run everything I've thrown at it with my R9-380.
Is there anything new I should try that would throw it under?
I think either what you said needs to happen, or they need to unlock the devices before declaring them EOL so that the user is free to load something open source if they so choose...
Or, they could be nice, and allow it from the beginning... Like that's ever going to happen.
