What kind of clean room do you think your DNA originated in?

There's a tradition of Jewish mysticism that says the Universe was created out of letters and numbers, by combining them and permuting them. E.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sefer_Yetzirah.

Gospel of John also starts with the Word, which by and through all things were made.

I think the hard part of that is socializing the definition of "areas of importance"

Also getting everyone to accept one worldview. Maybe the most important area of importance would be educating people to see things the way you see...

I don't know about the rest of my large FAANG company, but in my meetings only managers turn their cameras on. I know another high profile tech CEO recently told his employees to feel free to turn their cameras off (in an internal town-hall meeting).

A sci-fi future where men were indistinguishable from women was brought up in The Three-Body Problem series.

"...as a consequence of the pandemic, tons of organizations will rely on proof that you’re vaccinated to grant you access. This includes flights, cruises, sporting events and other scenarios where strangers congregate. None of these organizations (or the vaccine passports hoping to serve them) are care providers, so even in states where they operate, they wouldn’t by default be able to access the state IIS [state immunization registries]."

IMHO not sharing my medical records with private companies is a good thing.

This is kind of out there, but this book provides a cross-cultural overview of the idea of collective beings created by human religious practices, nationalisms, etc.

That sounds interesting, do you have any more information that would help me find it?

Edit: is this it? https://blog.codinghorror.com/quantity-always-trumps-quality...

The article discusses a 2014 U.S. ban on virus gain-of-function experiments. Looking it up, I found this 2015 Nature article which also mentions the ban.

Here's a link to the 2017 Wuhan labs research paper that was quoted: "we constructed a group of infectious bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) clones with the backbone of WIV1 and variants of S genes from 8 different bat SARSr-CoVs" https://journals.plos.org/plospathogens/article?id=10.1371/j...

I switched into a computer science major after taking an intro class that used Python to make pictures and videos (CS1315 at Georgia Tech). I think this is the book from the professor:

It's old, but it's like $8. You can also look up a more recent syllabus to see what book they're using now.
