Open source is a great way to learn new skills, build your portfolio, and give back to the tech community.

    ?
The internet is full of blogs and resources on how to get started with open source, and let's be honest, they can all start to sound the same after a while.

Here's my take on what beginners should focus on:

   .
This is crucial. Don't just jump into the biggest project you can find. Look for something that aligns with your interests and skill set.

' . There are tons of ways to contribute to an open-source project, even if you don't have a ton of coding experience. You can help with documentation, testing, or even just reporting bugs.

. The open-source community is one of the most supportive and welcoming communities in tech. Don't be afraid to ask questions and get help when you need it.

Thanks for the explanation! That makes sense to consider the database structure when choosing between REST and GraphQL. I hadn't thought about purpose-driven design before - focusing on the use case sounds key to avoiding bloated APIs. Do you have any favorite resources on designing for specific use cases?

Also, are there any tools that can help with documenting or visualizing different API design options?

Shift your focus: Instead of just building new things, try diving deeper into a specific concept that interests you within your current knowledge base. Maybe explore design patterns, algorithms, or a new framework within your existing language. You might be surprised how much more there is to learn.

Challenge yourself with a project that pushes your boundaries: Look for open-source projects you can contribute to, or brainstorm a personal project that requires you to learn new skills. This will expose you to different coding styles and approaches, accelerating your growth.

There are tools that can help with both approaches, but that's a topic for another day ;)

This looks interesting! Especially the Markdown and LaTeX components in react-print-pdf. Could be a great way to streamline technical documentation generation in codebases. Would love to see some examples of those in action.

Have you tried using an AI-powered HTTP client for exploring APIs? It can take an OpenAPI spec and generate code snippets based on your requests, letting you test and mess around with endpoints directly. Sounds pretty similar to what you described! Just sayin', there might be a tool out there that can streamline your workflow
