It was more of an engineering position compared to a manufacturing position today. The work was pleasant and the corporate environment was not toxic like it is currently. Before scrum and rigid agile methodologies destroyed work life, we had few meetings and were left to perform our tasks without constant badgering. Basically we were more respected back then.
