It varies widely. Often enough they pick a time and within a round of emails and we set a meeting for 6-8 folks.

Occasionally it can take a couple of rounds. It’s the uncertainty of it and owning it that’s the thing.

Yup. It’s the back and forth.

We offer a number of times/dates and if it’s a high profile meeting we have to block them all on our side until they respond. It’s a lot of steps for something that could be automated somehow, especially if there are key folks who may need to change at the last moment.

This is awesome. I think there is something about making your own sense of things, your own order that brings an aliveness and a freshness to an experience. I will try this.

Why the hate on the gens?

Most of this stuff was not widely known. There was no internet, so you only got info from 3 tv channels and a newspaper, magazines and conversation.

Blame it on the corps.

Awesome list. Do you publish more somewhere? Great stuff and thought processes.

Backup phone, vpn router, etc.

Thank you

I once found a recording of a lab session in high school physics. A day I completely forgot about. A moment that had no bookmarks in my brain.

Other things about that day were surfaced. How my braces felt and the fear I felt about forgetting a textbook.

All real, but unsurfaced until then.

Um...shouldn't Proven just hire Trevor McNally as a consultant or heck, make him a partner? I mean...can you imagine the next level reputation they'd have if they can adapt and make a Trevor-proof lock?

I'd buy it.

ghaff. you said the first part well well. Welch "looked great" its the second part "until it wasn't." that stands out to me...because his approach, to kill the goose to get the golden eggs, so to speak, was doomed from the beginning. Its just hard to tell early on if you don't know what to look for. People in his orgs knew what was happening, but hard to go against the "hero".

I don't know a solution to these kinds of scenarios except for having a more wise and educated populace. Perhaps trusting the people at the bottom. Big issues. Hard to solve. And in today's world, harder than ever.

Delaney - I second this. Can you write a book on this? Blog posts. Podcasts? I’d read/listen to them all.
