I saw this in the wild (Twitter I think) before I saw it here and ignored it because of the name.

Brick layers. Developers develop, designers design was more my point, though of course this line is blurred in many organisations.

JS is the new PHP. Part of the problem with massive popularity is it attracts also the lower ability devs and the ecosystem slowly degrades due to this. This cascades.

Engineers typically aren’t tasked with increasing revenue/engagement.

And state is not reflective of reality in the database which is a terrible idea for most apps

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought this.

I balked at the price but if they've solved the wind noise problem I'd think about getting it. I love to walk outside when I have calls but the wind makes it impossible most days.

They never said "make the world better" only "change the world". This wasn't a mistake.

My kids aren't quite kindergarten age yet but I doubt they won't need attention just because there is an online class. Better off sticking them in front of khan academy or similar.

They started suing the companies responsible after the 2014 (?) Indonesian forest fires. Seems to have been effective.

It’s unusual for there to be haze. When there odds have it’s awful but it only happened twice, once bad and over mild, in the 4 years I lived there.

My impression of India was that up could either easily afford the iphone or you were in the market for a budget phone. Not much middle market. Is that a correct assumption?

Go to any public transport commuter city and the buses and trains are rammed with people watching tv in their phones

Maybe we should make it illegal for Amazon et al to externalise this cost to society.

Most people are looking at never retiring at this stage. Retiring in your 40s puts you in a very exclusive bracket.

The first question I have is whether driving high on cannabis is less safe than sober. Then there is a question of levels of impairment. I wouldn't be surprised that someone lightly stoned is actually safer than sober due to being more patient with performance degrading the more stoned they are. Treating cannabis like alcohol is not the correct approach. I sold find it better to think of it like coffee. Some coffee before driving is fine but large jitter inducing amounts is not.
