I have thought through tough problems using pen and paper. Have tried a lot of iterations of digital notebooks, but lost the fluidity and malleability of paper.

These days I have found the iPad + Pencil with an infinite canvas to be the best fit. I use Ahmni (https://www.ahmni.app/) which is a delight.

It did happen in the Muslim world. There are "slave" dynasties in many parts of that world (Egypt, India) which were robust dynasties borne out of freed slaves.

I think Muziqi ought to satisfy most of these for audiobooks. Podcasts is on the list.

A feature-rich, nice looking audio player for those who don't stream music: https://sakunlabs.com/muziqi

It has 90% of the features that I wanted, and now I am working on what my users want.

For macOS Ionica is really really good: https://ionica.app/

For iOS I would suggest my own app Muziqi https://apps.apple.com/us/app/muziqi-for-music-lovers/id6468...

Not open source, but it’s the closest I have come to Winamp. It’s really good!

Not directly, but like most of the examples in the repository, they can be recreated with some custom drawing.

Thank you for Swift Charts. I was surprised by how flexible and powerful the API is.

I made a music app for iOS for myself, after not finding anything that did what I wanted as a non-streamer: visualization, audiobooks support, section loops, bookmarks, sleep timers, import from any source, etc.

In the end, I did put it on the App Store (after months of cleanup!) but it's easily the most used app on my phone.
