Would someone be able to explain what Anthropic’s values are around a shrinking required workforce? Based on the emphasis on their values I would hope for something more thoughtful than “in the past some jobs went away and others were created.” Past innovations replicated a much more narrow slice of human ability than AI.

Personally, I’m of the view that the internet is like a bulletin board: If you post your content publicly then it can be read publicly. Paywalls and required log-ins are perfectly OK.

I think what Cloudflare is advocating for is preservation of a “public+Ads” bundle where ads are viewed by a human. So they want to disentangle a computer reading something (the core premise of the internet) from a human putting eyes on it.

I wouldn’t mind see a world in which more content is private and the creator can decide how to monetize. It feels like Cloudflare stepping in to say public != public is an overreach.

That CRT effect is dope. It's amazing it's even possible.

I remember learning it in college. How easy it was to pull and parse a webpage and allow me to store and study the world’s information. I was hooked.

Haha. Yeah I feel they’re exact opposites. Emacs is so DIY/wanting to control your experience and create the perfect tool for you.
