This is fascinating! It definitely needs more iterations, but once the learning curve is achieved, something that uses 8 fingers. vs. 2 thumbs is going to be far more productive.
Good post, but even better design thinking and execution. Thanks for sharing, and good luck on next steps!
They missed the auto playing videos that follow the page as you scroll with sounds on and need to be manually stopped, and download 50 mb without my permission.
I agree with the idea. Miss a regular non intrusive web experience too much. The only place I usually find it is here on HN.
Long interview rounds are not only a significant cost for companies, but also for individuals.
Each hour of interview costs a company ~$100, in the time of the interview alone, not to mention scheduling overhead, frustration and recruiter's time spent. 5 rounds for 5 candidates == $2,500 (1 week's salary on average at big tech beginner roles).
For each candidate, that's 5 * (whatever they are getting paid, let's say $50) == $250.
If companies think of it this way, they might as well get some candidates for short amount of time to see a fit, instead of countless rounds spanning months.
Ideally, they should also compensate interviewees for their time, which I doubt will ever happen.
Everyone just trying to make money off of her story is very sad. Both her courage to fight, and put things into perspective in such an eloquent way is inspiring.
I wonder if the news outlets doing paid promotions using her name will ever respond with an apology, or a follow up post.
Oh me and everyone I know have been waiting for this.
Why use any other Issue tracker if Github can do this itself? Countless integrations would be replaced by this. I wonder what would happen to all those dashboard / issue tracker / project tracking apps now.
