Well stated. My journey only last 6 months because of the constant anxiety that comes from not having a stable parking situation. You think it's going to give you freedom but it ends up being your prison

How did you change the two factor authorization codes from Google Authenucator? I think they are needed for crypto sites like Kracken.

To expand on the VPN benefits you already have in place... grab a vnc app for Android and VPN in then vnc to a machine from your phone. All of the sudden you are sitting at an Linux desktop on your phone. With DLNA casting you can literally now use your phone as a full blown computer casting to a monitor (assuming you have some sort of peripherals). That was always my holy grail.

How is the Roku on this list? I have a pihole setup to do network level adblocking and telemetry disabling and the Roku is the absolute worst device. Thousands and "phone homes" per day that are not needed for the device to function properly. I can only assume it is feeding data back to the mothership at a very high rate.

Interesting. I really enjoyed the white guy speaking Swahili and his ability to switch mid-sentence. As a monoglot I am envy those with this ability. Reminds me of my favorite movie scene of all time, in Inglorious Basterds they are speaking German in a bar and an accent gives away an undercover spy. Right before things go south the aggressor and protagonist switch to a very refined English.

This was featured on HN a few days ago, it uses artifacts from the manufacturing process to extract data about which device took a photo. Is there any sort of algorithm on algorithmia at the moment that can give you this kind of information? Thank you, loved the post.

I'd recommend the book "Coders at Work," it features lots of industry veterans and candid interviews with them. I remember not being able to put the book down while reading the chapter interviewing the founder of LiveJournal.
