Because this “strain of thought” only disagrees with the government on non-issues. They align pretty well on the questions of property, rights, freedom, etc.
Posting a job req for a while (with no intentions on hiring anyone) and then claiming that they are not able to fulfill it with US workers (pretending none of the people they interviewed had the “special knowledge” needed for the position)
Because they are trying to discourage people from applying. Given their post history on whoishiring threads, I would confidently say they are just prepping to H1B someone.
As someone who migrated from a very conflictive area of Latin America, this is the answer, period. But the minute you mention this to the incumbents here in the US (specially to those claiming the need to “amplify” underrepresented voices) all of a sudden you will not be an ally anymore.
ever expanding spending for a site that, while big, probably has the same traffic patterns (for mostly static content while at that) year by year, and with no visible software improvements in the past few years (so they are not spending a fortune in developers) leads me to think that it’s just political money being channeled through them.
