It’s funny how I’m the opposite. I play FPS games on my phone as good as with a mouse and keyboard. I like low profile laptop keyboards because I can type faster with minimal down distance and force per finger. In the car the touch screen is so much bigger and nicer than any button interface in a legacy car.

Looking at a touchscreen isn’t a big deal, people look down and around their cabin all the time while driving. People here sound like you have to be staring at the road without blinking to drive. In reality people are always looking around the cabin while driving for all sorts of reasons.

Idk my Tesla drives itself 95% of the time. It also drives better than an most of the raging morons on the road.

I do over 100 miles a day in a Tesla on autopilot. Touchscreen works fine.

Can confirm, drive a Tesla and don’t need any extra buttons the screen is fine thanks.

I love driving a Tesla with no buttons. I hate buttons. The two multipurpose buttons on the steering wheel are enough for me. I don’t even like having a HUD. Just useless information in front of my face. Just give me a big touch screen and I’m happy.

Setting up a self-sustaining colony on Mars is orders of magnitude easier than fixing all the problems on Earth.

So I guess Windows won't run on M1, so none of my Windows software/Steam games will work either. Will software developers start dropping support for Mac now that they'd need to maintain an ARM version as well? It's not clear how long Apple will support emulation with Rosetta before cutting it off. What's the Linux landscape look like for this chip? It's great that there's performance and battery life improvements, but Microsoft said the same things about WindowsRT and their move to ARM in 2012, and we know how well that turned out.

I hope no one feels 'not needing to upgrade' is a 'bad thing'

It's a testament to Apple's build quality and long term support that you don't need to upgrade.

Samsung and Android are big on the half baked gimmicks and lackluster supports. Those phones you have to upgrade after a few years as they become more bloated than a Windows 95 machine bought from CompUSA.

Doesn't answer the question of why. React is the same old flawed component framework that will be replaced with the next cool thing eventually. A component system would allow objects built in whatever technology to co-exist over decades.

Wasn't web components supposed to be the holy grail to bring us back to vb6 like composable front end applications? What happened?

All that matters is what sells. Create a car with tons of buttons and switches today, go out of business tomorrow.

This is a really good point. Hard for others to make fun of your fancy tree hugging electric truck when it looks like that.

There are a bunch of websites that will help compile your crypto trades into the forms you need for your taxes. This year I used cointracker.io and it worked pretty good for me. It created a file that was easily imported into TurboTax. Also if you lost money on crypto you can claim some of that as a deduction.
