The biggest danger of smoking is not cancer, it's cardiovascular diseases. You are comparing a mosquito to an elephant.

And petty criminals that set up fake fake websites to steal your money, ad-networks are also commonly used to spread malware so limiting the number of attack surfaces is the only sane thing to do.

> even foreign companies competitive to key US companies.

It's unfathomable to me that EU companies don't take the risk of industrial espionage from US more seriously

Speaking from experience, it's not only ID systems but if you run non-Android (some AOSP) they might still require you to install an App only available with Play Services or on iOS to do business with government agencies or even apply for funds in some European states. In other words if you are using GrapheneOS, from gov. agencies point of view you might as well be a criminal. Actually given how frequent ID-theft is nowadays, it's actually easier for criminals to launder their money than privacy preserving individuals or companies to pay taxes in EEA.

Consumers consume. Most of those who pay for Netflix Premium don't even know what they are paying for. They believe Netflix that says it's better quality, of convince themselves that they're going to use off-line features on flights.

> Everyone else uses ChatGPT

I'm actually tired that people put stupid questions in ChatGPT and then present in with a straight face as a source of truth. Sometimes it hallucinates completely, sometimes the conditions or regulation have changed and it gives false answers and no-one cares. Simple collaborations that was possible before now turn into unnecessary arguing. Some ChatGPT users aren't even aware that LLMs hallucinate, I just pointed it out recently and was accused of mansplaining and being a tinfoil hat.

I think something like this might be implemented as part of the helmet for jobs that require it, definitely not built into glasses that will likely always be ridiculous just like riding penny-farthing is kinda ridiculous now.

Not possible since we all "need" AI in our phones
