It's still awful. The only devices I own that would give me a reliable time, would then be my phone, laptop, desktop, and maybe my TV. My microwave, oven, thermostat, alarm clock, car, watch, grandfather clock, etc would all be wrong.
You would wreak unmeasurable havoc across the target country.
I'm confused. This has a very simple, and likely explanation. Someone found their old password written down (or found an old hard drive). This is one of the most obvious and clear-cut applications of Occam's Razor - why jump to "state-actors"?
I went from an A52 5G to a S25+ (3 years between the two models). The S25 is infinitely nicer to use. The screen is usable in direct sunlight. OneUI is noticeably smoother. The camera is way better (like, way, way better, in both good and poor lighting conditions). Background apps don't close as frequently. Heavy social media apps perform more smoothly.
I assumed the same thing, until I tested my hypothesis. KDE Plasma 6 uses less power on idle than just `Hyprland` (tiling WM) without anything like a notification daemon, idler, status bar, etc.
Okay that's not what ordinary people like GP's dad are envisioning. Normal people are envisioning either: "wow I can buy a Tesla and it can drive me around!!" or a macroview "wow in the future Elon Musk is going to make self-driving cars so good that nobody will have to drive!".
We are discussing "normal people thoughts", not market sentiment.
"lot of them being deported from the U.S. for defending Palestinians."
Can you cite me a source for this? Specifically to show that there are a "lot" of them being deported, and that the cause is definitely "for defending Palestinians" and nothing else?
No, sorry. By and large, when people criticize RMS for his behavior, they aren't saying "RMS being deeply associated with Open Source makes it harder for me to convince my boss to get the company to switch to X FOSS software or donate to Y project". The Open Source side of things is way bigger than RMS now. He's inconsequential to their world.
No, just about everyone critiquing RMS's behavior is saying that it negatively affects his own movement. That it makes it more difficult to advocate for Free Software, that it diminishes the FSF.
> Well, it is absolutely true, for their cause, not his.
You have it backwards. Open Source is so much bigger than Free Software, that it's not even funny. The Open Source people are not scared of RMS affecting a movement widely accepted in almost every major tech company.
That's close to double the repair cost. No warranty, since Aliexpress. Probably no options for non-US English keyboard replacements. And I would be very surprised if that keyboard replacement was still available for purchase on Aliexpress in 5 years.
Are you normally reading in a moving vehicle or something?
