I follow marginal revolution, astral codex ten, rob k henderson, and a number of others who put out links roundups. Those links roundups are very good and useful.

A number of useful blogs show up on HN as well.

And also the argument that people have demons in them: https://www.astralcodexten.com/p/book-review-the-others-with....

I read some of the guy's book. It's a trip.

If those external entities were real, we wouldn't need to wait for science, some shaman would just go to the spirit realm and get told about bacteria.

A great point.

We'll know Europeans are serious about demography when they defeat NIMBYism and build housing abundance.

It's better for housing to be cheap than expensive.

It's better for landowners to have freedom than restrictions.

I liked it better before the modern Reddit censorship machine.

At least old.reddit.com still works. For now.

States should charge market rates for water, so that a liter is a liter is a liter regardless of its destination. For example, using 70+% of Arizona's water for agriculture is terrible. https://mapazdashboard.arizona.edu/article/arizonas-water-us...

Prices work. They are an incentive wrapped in a signal.

Frustrating that Lenovo do not offer Linux as a default OS choice. I'd think Lenovo want to get out from under the Windows boot themselves but they seem not to be advancing that possibility.

Doesn't seem to ship with Linux :(

Feeling the heat from Framework!

Now checking to see if it can ship w/ Linux by default.

edit: The answer appears to be "no." Also, searching Lenovo.com for "T14 gen 5" yields: "2676 Result For ‘t14 gen 5.'" Lenovo should really work on their search functionality.

Learn how to do cold reads of people and situations.

Cold read enough, and with enough vagueness, and you'll be right enough of the time.

You could also ask: "How can I be like William of Baskerville?"
