Beautiful design! (makes sense for someone that does UI design). Congrats, I'll check it out.

Yes, there's been a tension between personal advocacy and the system for a long time. Doctors roll there eyes when a patient mentions they self diagnosed on WebMD. LLM's will accelerate self diagnosis immensely. This has the potential to help patients, but it is just a starting point. Of course, it should be verified from actual trained doctors.

Right, he's promoting living in a more helpful, less isolated world.

I'm pretty sure the message is about the general goodness of humanity and the positivity of connection, "the better angles of our nature." As the culture gets more divided and us vs them, people are actually fundamentally good and helpful. I'm sure the people who helped him also got a positive experience out of it. It is not zero sum that he took something from them, both were positively affected by the experience.

> "Humans are altering the planet on an unthinkable scale"

Mesmerizing photos, but hard to draw causal conclusions. Drought in Iraq is pictured directly above flooding in Australia. Maybe this is just the natural cycle of the planet. We don't have data to compare for more than just the last couple generations.

Next few days? Might be a bit longer than that.

> A common lament among founders, even successful ones, is: "Sometimes I feel like I'm wasting my twenties".

Interesting perspective, I feel like I see this much more attributed to someone working on a meaningless problem for a paycheck at a large company. I guess it speaks to the difficulty in finding purpose in any endeavor in your twenties.

Nice conclusion on what to truly value.

What sources are you using? The biggest challenge seems to be summarizing everything. How are you weighting what is prioritized?

Same as my plans for 2025: to actually achieve the goals I set for 2024.

What does 'writing 95% of your code' even mean? This has always been the case. Is creating a new file with boilerplate not writing code? Or copying an answer from stack overflow? You didn't type out that code. AI is just stack overflow with a find and replace feature for your variable names.

I moved all my apps to one folder to remove clutter and visual stimulation years ago. So my screen was empty, just pull down to search for an app. Then Apple added App Library far right screen that was basically just the same non-hideable layout of icons. Good to know how to hide now.

Agreed, Apple shared albums seems to be the default. It’s not amazing, but your photos and contacts are already there, no new network required.

What would you say is the biggest differentiator from Monarch?

The company whose top seller is a device intended to go in your pocket and is fragile and slick as a bar of soap. So much so that there is an entire industry to build cases for it. Granted, the market has spoken and it's the best selling device of all time. But both the iphone design and Tesla's door handles demonstrate aesthetic over practicality.

Domains should be more expensive. Why can you buy a domain for $0.99 then resell for $100k? More expensive domains would limit squatting and also make an indie developer think twice before registering. Oh well, supply and demand.

From a libertarian perspective, I always thought betting should be legal. Trust people to know their limits and remove the organized crime aspect. People will find a way even if it is illegal. Turns out there may have been a reason this was illegal in the first place.

It’s great to see practical examples that push us to consider what the platform already offers before adding more layers of complexity.

How do you get the inventory? Are you using a standard property API like the rest? Or is most of this a manual process at this point and is that why you are focusing on one city?
