I have been using unofficial addons for a while like Todoist and Trello and love the fact that they are making a step in the right direction. More integrations, more love.
On the other hand, I really hate their blog design. The reading space is less than half the screen. https://cl.ly/0h2z471o0v2W
Bear is amazing! The only issue i have is how do they make money. Math doesn't favor them. I hope they acquire enough users to justify that price point
A machine with can print legit money in any currency I want. I would definitely pay for that.
On a more serious note, I have a few workflow problems which will definitely make me shell out few bucks if there is a polished product.
In fact, i have more than a few. I'll give you one example. There should be a really nice cross-platform diff viewer for people who use git from the command line. My reasoning for that is that i like using the command line for git because it is way faster than GUI, but i always end up using the terminal for viewing diffs and stashes.

To be very honest i would love to use Path because i am sick and tired of facebook and dont really use it that much but the thing is none of my friends use Path. And this is probably the single most important reason people dont use Path.
They since passed the acquisition offer, they have only few two choices left go under or reinvent themselves just like few of the other social networks are doing like myspace. Venture money doesnt really proves a point that a business is healthy so i am not sure Path will be a money making business in the future.
What i really like is a location based social network where i can socialize with people i don't really know, or maybe a interest based social network. i will go with the former. The point is they HAVE to reinvent themselves before this VC money goes out.
Can anybody spread some light on the business model they are trying to follow? I know they sell software, but with a single software for $29 and few employees. They need to sell quite a few licenses to make it.
I know its an ignorant statement, but can anybody explain it to me.
Whatsapp is a little gem on a company which no one talk about. It's hard to get inside information about the company on the internet, and maybe that's the geniuses of co-founders. They don;t talk so much about the company and instead focus on building a quality product.
On a comparative note, the product is actually not so good(maybe because of the sacle they are operating on). They have problems with their backend, few of the front end apps are not so good eg blackberry but increasing number of users is an achievement which is the scary part for facebook.
I am in Pakistan. This is a place where most people don't use credit cards on the internet, sms packages are dirt cheap like $1/month for unlimited texting, and we have no 3G internet(only EDGE) but still majority of the people use whatsapp. Almost everybody i know uses whatsapp and they have been using for more than a year. One you get hooked on whatsapp people are forced to pay.
Whatsapp has a lot of potential to challenge facebook to a certain extend. They introduced profile pictures a while back, and the 'last seen at' update is like a gold. Ramp up whatsapp with a few BBM like features, extensive photo sharing, and geo location features(anonymously chat with people near you) and they can be a worthwhile competitor.
