Did they get bought out by bigger players in China? Or did they really closed down and reduced total capacity?
China themselves installed more Solar Panel than the rest of the world combined. If anything it was actually slow's slow down in rolling out that causes the demand issue.

Look at the difference in area of solar deployment with that in mind.
