There’s only been incremental improvements to products launched by Steve Jobs under Tim Cook. The only vastly new product category that I can recall they’ve launched under Tim is the Apple Vision Pro. If that becomes a runway success like the iPhone then we can credit it as something launched during Tim’s reign but otherwise he seems to be a good operator not an innovator. The value created is Tim riding on Steve’s success.
Reasonable amount of time is an understatement I purchased an Apple Airport router probably over ten years ago for my parents and it still works flawlessly to this day and receives security updates despite it being discontinued for five years now. The older version has been discontinued longer and it too still receives iirc.
I’m glad I’m not alone in my thoughts on 1P 8. Unfortunately it’s become completely unusable for me and I’m actively looking into alternatives. Leaning toward Bitwarden although it’s UI is a considerable downgrade imo.
It always bothers me when people make definitive statements like this without citing any sources or providing context. Fraud is a pretty extreme accusation here. Are you saying attempting to return an item constitutes fraud because the buyer somehow acted in bad faith purchasing an item falsely advertised? Also, it’s most likely a third party seller which Amazon held the funds back from. Are you saying the scam artist deserves to get paid? The refund only happens because the fraudulent seller knows they have no recourse. The only person committing fraud here is the seller not the buyer.
He’s definitely in with the pickup driving crowd right now. The top selling vehicles in the US are pickups and the Cybertruck is close to production. Maybe Elon is playing 4D chess? Time will tell.
Completely agree. I find it nearly impossible to use without a significantly degraded browsing experience. I also thought of using a VPS but being the only person who would be using that static IP makes it harder anonymize traffic. You can’t hide behind the masses on a VPS VPN. One leak that has some piece of identifying information along with the VPS IP exposes you entirely.
The only reason Amazon charges you to return is to cover shipping. A brick and mortar does not accept returns via mail so you have to stand in line at the customer service counter forever. If you’re comparing apples to apples, Amazon returns are accepted in person at several retailers which eliminates the return shipping fee.
