"[...] the gravitational force the Earth exerts on you is canceled out in a freely falling elevator" and "[...] it is impossible to distinguish acceleration from gravity"? Seriously?
Isn't acceleration the result of force? Isn't gravity a force? When you are in free fall you accelerate, gravity doesn't "cancel out"!
Well, North Korea is not complaining about TLS 1.3, why would banks have to? Their proxy servers are already MITM platforms that meet their needs for security.
It seems that the redacted text at the top left of every non-letterheaded page is probably "File No.NSL-XX-XXXXXX" (where the Xs stand for the actual numbers). The file/ref number is at the first page, under the FBI logo and is also mentioned at the end of the letter, for use instead of the letter's details. So, why redact it?
There are many technical problems with this piece. Is "oversimplification" the cause?
Quotes from Prof Alan Woodward sound strange. Consider the statement "Given enough time, all algorithms can be reverse-engineered" about random number generators. There are no "secret" RNGs in software (except in DIY projects) and they should never get into production software or OSs IMHO.
Am I wrong or the phrase "a type of mathematical protocol for convincing someone that something is true without revealing any details of why it is true" is wrong and should be "a type of mathematical protocol for allowing someone to verify that something is true without revealing any details of how it is calculated to be true?"
