It was real here in the US for a great deal of time, and its decline of 'realness' seemingly coincided with the universal push for youth to attend it. The culture of college in the US i'm sure is quite different than germany or asian countries.

Fable has seen an increase of at least 3x daily spend on my part, but it is also easier for me to reach my limit on my plan, so maybe I am just making more use of my limits?

Why do I care how many tokens were used? 50,000 or 5,000,000 all I care about is the output quality, speed, and the cost.

I use GLM 5.2 through Opencode Go, but find it to be quite slow when you get to higher contexts (80k+) through their provider so I have not been able to test too much.

Very expensive, not sure how it fits in with many companies seemingly trying to get employees using models at about Sonnet tier pricing. I certainly would never pay API rates for it, using ccusage I am seeing myself "use" $150-$400 worth of fable per day. (https://www.theinformation.com/articles/tesla-caps-employee-...)

I feel like the times of AI generated profile pictures are long behind us and we are just beginning to see the widespread disdain for AI use specifically in a personal setting. To many it seems tacky and I think this is the biggest issue meta faces for AI in products outside of facebook itself. Though I suppose there is plenty of time before their target demographic ages out of existence for them to reap the rewards of the increasingly socially disconnected boomer/late genx and millenial/genz.

Do you know why it is the same price on the manufacturer website?

bko, perhaps it would be helpful to research this topic a bit more before commenting, just to keep our discussions useful (https://www.404media.co/city-learns-flock-accessed-cameras-i...)

When is the last time you purchased a camera and how much did you spend? I am happy with the wireless performance of my Sony A7 SIII. I kind of splurged on it as my once in every 2 decades camera so I don't have anything to compare to besides connectivity first cameras (Drone).

I have used it in gh copilot to some success, before the pricing changes. Thanks for the reminder.

I would agree I cannot bear to use the TUI and I find myself in the terminal quite often. The value is good on the $10 plan so I still get decent usage on the desktop client but I would prefer a better terminal interface.

Bad title for this big of a story imo. Are we less sure about life now than before today? Good excerpt:

“ Scientists hope synthetic cells can tell them things about life that natural cells cannot, including such basic questions as how many genes are necessary for a minimal form of life.

But synthetic cells also might someday be engineered to do things that natural cells can’t, like making new kinds of medicine or drawing large amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. In theory, engineered SpudCells might produce a vast range of proteins that natural cells cannot be coaxed to make, or even toxic chemicals like rocket fuel.

Now, “we can think about doing chemistry that we’re barely getting our heads around,” Dr. Glass said.”
