And that will stop people from shaming you on social media how? All you need to harm someone is to send a Twitter mob at them. If your union becomes political enough then toy can just do that, just like Google did.

Would they though? From what I understood Google has a workplace that heavily leans towards one political side in the US. It seems to even have been used to shame people to stay in line. What's the chance that something similar wouldn't happen with this Union?

I find it incredibly unlikely that this tech has been perfected to such a degree. People have tried for a very long time to fix spam. It still gets through. I think that this is unfixable on a technical level, because people can simply change the meaning of words.

It's not about repetitive chat in that game. The community always adopts certain phrases that are there to signal that somebody sucks. I've yet to play an online game where people compete and this doesn't happen. Even the most innocent words and phrases work for this.

People focus too much on the specific words used. That's not what hurts. What hurts is the intent behind the words.

How long will it stay politically unaligned though? It seems like it would be quite easy to end up using the Union to push certain politics.

This is the norm almost everywhere that has conscription. There's a map of countries with conscription on Wikipedia (blue, red, and yellow): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conscription

>Things that give companies a productivity boost, while also avoid taxes.

Shovels, cars, tractors, computers, pens, paper etc? A truck driver can do the job of many cart drivers! And a cart driver can do the job of people who carry things with their own body.

There's some truth to the comment. You can't have people become so complacent that they just trust people on their word. You need somebody to actually verify that what they're doing could actually work.

Take Theranos for example. That whole thing is a huge case is scientific illiteracy. What they were suggesting was essentially impossible to achieve, yet people invested in it anyway. Nobody demanded to even see it working properly as a prototype. There are enormous kickstarter campaigns for things like "self-filling water bottles" or "solar roadways" and people fall for them.

Who's going to raise this issue though? And what if they put this in the browser's T&C?

I wouldn't call it privilege. I think it's more about accepting that there's nothing they can do to change the course of events. Whether they add their voice or not to Twitter discussions, it won't change people's opinions.

There are many rights under attack. They are rights all of us share and with them being stripped or changed we all lose. The GP is avoiding discussions about those rights as well.

I've also done what the GP has done. It's not because the decisions that are made don't affect me, but that past experience has shown me that what I think is irrelevant to the outcome. Yet paying such attention to these topics just weighs on me and negatively impacts my life.

1. You can make late companies unable to evade the law.

2. Yeah? But according to this article GDPR actually makes small and medium companies even more dangerous to trust with your information.

I think this is part of the reason why GDPR needs an exemption for businesses that are too small. This kind of a flaw will be abused more and more and they'll never be able to close this gap with small and medium businesses.

Yes. A lot of Estonians use it daily to log in to their bank accounts, give digital signatures, deal with government business, check their health data etc. All you need is your ID card and your PIN codes.
