Fiber is just getting cheaper and cheaper, more resilient, and is faster too. Plus it has no value like copper so thieves dont steal it.

I don’t think it’s wise to pollute all of low earth orbit with Musk’s satellites, that area belongs to all of us collectively.

I imagine they're capturing all the tokens+context from pi sessions from every developer.

I strongly believe this premise in the article is correct - we will see a lot of tiny, hyper specialized models for individual tasks, and perhaps that will converge with an orchestration layer for a generalized intelligence that controls these specialized tiny models, that will be quite capable.

I don't foresee AGI arising out training bigger LLMs (Though investors won't realise that for a while yet).

It's actually how organic brains work - specialized tasks are offloaded to local cortical columns. The overall coordination between these sub-brains creates emergent skills/abilities.

Article entirely written by AI (Claude, to be specific). Unfortunate, the way things are trending.

The psilocybin dosage in this study seems to be miniscule (5mg, 25mg), which is fair given its controversial reputation (undeserved IMO) and researchers’ plausible risk aversion. However, to see meaningful improvements in TRD I’d expect larger doses to be necessary for most people.

So many easy tells, AI, particularly Claude, has a characteristic writing style (Can be alleviated by using smaller/local models).

I believe this drive to record all the data and control everything (through science or surveillance) is misguided (And perhaps a bit paranoid) and will lead to poor outcomes for everyone.

HN swings pretty far right.

It's naked fascism and about sending a message.

A lot of HN visitors align right wing because capital usually aligns with the right wing, and people here are better off than most.

In my opinion capital will no longer serve as the reliable survival signal that it has upto now, and we're in a transitional era.

Optimizing purely for capital is not likely to ensure the survival of the human race, neither collective nor individual. Infact it is the very drive to maximize capital which is threatening our survival.

Agree with everything else but POE does have a high skill ceiling, it’s just more of a strategic game than tactical.

Same in Australia. India/Bangladesh/Pakistan is specifically referred to as South Asian.
