You graft a bit from a small tree, to a much more mature rootstock, so the time to market is a lot of less than trying to grow a small tree from start. So like 1-2 years instead of 10+ years. Yes, you still need to get the scion from someone that has them because apples don't breed true, the only true one is the original that all the others are grafted off of.

>The cases seem fairly reasonable, given how the defendents were basically engaging in selective breeding to copy the traits.

This, the people that don't understand farming and buy into weird anti-gmo propaganda always claim that a simple google search agrees with them, but when you actually read the cases, it's clear that the people being sued are always in the wrong.

You could graft a young tree to a mature one to decrease the time to market.

>The courts at all three levels noted that the case of accidental contamination beyond the farmer's control was not under consideration but rather that Mr. Schmeiser's action of having identified, isolated and saved the Roundup-resistant seed placed the case in a different category.

Between this comment and few of your others above, it's pretty clear you don't have any concept of how farming works and are just angry about things you don't understand.

I used to play that at work, I thought it went away when all the other flash games went away.

I don't really think a smart watch would add any value to my life, and I suspect that's actually true for most people that think otherwise, but I love the idea of custom watch faces. There are some really interesting and creative ones for pebble, that comic drop one the author links too is pretty sweet.

There are several other EHRs that use MUMPS too.

What's crazy is that there are ton of businesses building processes around LLMs that haven't done this exercise and fully believe the LLM is giving them accurate data.

They'll end up being worth a ton of money in the future like those roofs from the original mazda miatas.

>Not really, I need twice-yearly seasonal tire changes/rotations.

Are you somewhere where you actually need dedicated winter tires or have you just convinced yourself that rocking all weathers all year isn't feasible?

>Build cool shit and follow the proper release procedures for it.

By all reasonable measures, they did.

>The mid-level manager who makes the decision gets to "claim" that expenses were reduced in (1) and "win" at year-end reviews.

I worked at a company where every 6-sigma project ended up that way. They eventually had to stop giving bonuses for 'saving money' because the projects would only save money for a month or two before ending up costing extra in the long run.

I don't know why cops think it's ok to randomly pull over cars just to look at them. They cause a ton of legal liability for their cities and departments by doing it, luckily most people with cool or interesting cars don't seem to mind too much.

It's hard to feel bad about uber destroying taxi services, they had decades to improve the user experience and decided not to.

>Linux people said things like this in 2019 too.

They've been saying it since it was competing with Windows XP at least.

>47.1% of people with a philosophy degree are working in a job that does not require any college degree.

Theoretically. I know tons of jobs that claim to not require a degree, but actually won't hire anyone without a degree.

commenting so i come back here at some point and read some of the blogs people are suggesting. I pretty much haven't found any text-heavy blogs that I enjoy anymore.

Isn't a philosophy also a popular pre-law degree? A lot of these sorts of articles neglect to account for the actual reality of how these degrees are used.

>This seems very low.

This, it seems like a confidently incorrect answer, but I don't really understand why they'd act informed when they aren't.
