I don't think it's so obvious The International Brotherhood of Teamsters didn't officially endorse any candidate for president in 2024. This was because internal polling said that their members overwhelmingly supported Trump over Harris, while it seems like the union leadership supported Harris over Trump This is not the only Union who had a difference of opinion between leadership and membership in 2024

I'm glad your firmware updated from calling people who disagree with you Russian Bots to calling them Israeli Agents.

This seems like an easy proposal, but I don't see many case studies of it being successfully implemented.

https://bidenwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefing-room/statement... When Biden increased the tariff on Chinese EVs from 25% to 100%, and doubled the rate of tariffs on Chinese solar cells it seemed clear to me what was going on. It's not about cheap electronic vehicles with these people. They don't want poor people to drive. Let them eat cake has become let them drive Tesla's. If the cheapest GM or Ford EV is $60,0000 and the cheapest Chinese EV is $30,000 well that 100% tariff solves that problem. It's coastal elites who want more prestige.

If we lowered the speed limit to 20 miles per hour country wide we would be a lot closer to zero deaths. But at what cost? We live in an imperfect world of trade offs, not perfect solutions. Even requiring people to wear seatbelts has a cost

The Wet Market theory seems to have some racist implications about Chinese people eating bats sold at wet markets. It completely ends one line of discussion by pushing another angle.

What happened to the local newspaper when most advertising went broadcast or digital? There are some local newspapers who clung onto life, but without ads local print news went the way of the dodo.

It's like being a first party for a Video Game Console. Gabe Newell having a billion in Yachts, Bill Gates might have a billion dollars tied up in Real Estate. It has less to say about the personal greed of Gabe Newell and more to say about the relative size of the market.

The only reason EpicGameStore was able to rise as a competitor to Steam was because of the Billions Fortnite was earning.

And voters 4 years ago voted for an open border which filled emergency rooms and denied American Citizens from recieving treatment in American Hospitals. The emergency room wait times have been dropping since January of this year

Well I haven't heard stories about transgender people being lynched in bathrooms during the 1950s or 1960s. I haven't heard stories about Transgender athletes during that time breaking records either. It's a euphemism, people can read into it what they like. I would expect at some level he meant shaming and bullying

Isn't that what happened in 1994? We debated if what was happening in Rwanda was genocide. We debated if there was Genocide in Bosnia between 1992-1995. And then debate what to do about it if we do recognize it as genocide

The shooting was in a gun free zone. Passing more laws isn't going to accomplish anything if existing laws aren't enforced.

Evil people are going to use whatever tools they can get their hands on to commit mass murders. Whether it is flying planes into the world trade center, a truck into a crowded market, or shooting up Charlie Hebdo for publishing cartoons of Mohammed. These barriers can be overcome by the ideologically motivated. Japan has very strict gun control and Shinzo Abe was still assassinated by a firearm, even if it was an improvised one

And if we got the horrific photos after the Nice truck attack or the Christmas Market attack in Germany we might realize that being killed by a truck is no less horrifying.

It wasn't just black people being lynched. The largest single mass lynching in American history was of Italians https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1891_New_Orleans_lynchings
