Ironically, I attribute most of the Zune's failings to the Apple cult. It had comparable hardware, software (including the UI), and features. Its integration with the Zune subscription service predated Apple's subscription service by almost a decade and Spotify by a few years. The people who gave it a shot loved it, including myself. The main issue was that it wasn't made by Apple and therefore wasn't "cool."
