Reading the classics, in some sense, connects you to everyone who ever read them across all of human history. That's not nothing.

Shoe Dog by Phil Night might fit the bill. It is definitely about the person (who founded Nike), but also a fascinating look into how the sportswear industry took hold, sponsorship deals, Michael Jordan, etc.

Tis true. I use HomeAssistant with the f.lux plugin to do this, which wasn't too much work as I already used HomeAssistant.

Definitely a lot to set up though.

Only one of my dogs appears to recognize things in the TV. She'll bark at something on screen, and my other dog will run to a window or door trying to figure what he missed. Always wondered why...

Yep, heat definitely apepars to be the biggest factor in these bulbs dying. I have Hyperikon BR30 bulbs in various locations. About half of the bulbs installed in insulation-contact recessed cans have died, but those in exposed fixtures are fine.

Philips bulbs seem to do much better in the ceiling. If only they'd make 3000k bulbs...

The de facto effect is the same. But is a decision independently reached by multiple parties really the same as a decision by a single monopoly?

I can't confidently say one way or another, but it feels more acceptable to me.

Assuming each company did reach that decision independently (and that's a big assumption) and not as a result of bad PR brought on by an angry internet mob.
