5km per year is higher than any European or North/South American city (except maybe Moscow), I believe.

It's an interesting question how Europe would look if all the white Americans and Australians and so on had stayed in Europe. But the answer is not obvious.

India's going on a massive metro rail spree and also massively improving intercity rail. Things are significantly improving, though there will always be traffic in a city the size of Delhi or Mumbai.

Anyone who achieves on his level possesses not just raw innate brainpower but also other skills, for example organizational skills.

If your state doesn't like that, they can switch time zones.

You'd have to put a vent through the wall. People do this for clothes dryers. But for fridges it's probably not worth it - worthless in summer, and in winter the bad insulation around the vent likely cancels out the electricity savings.

A general comment on cyberwarfare. The Russian government/military is probably one of the most formidable cyberwarfare forces in the world (a quick googling lists US, UK, China, Russia, Israel as the top 5 cyberwarfare states, and I assume no non-state organization compares). One would expect them to have deployed their cyberwarfare "forces" against Ukraine. And yet the results were... pretty minimal? Internet traffic went down by ~30% in Kharkiv for a few hours. Have there been any other consequences? Yes it is possible that Ukrainian military communications were disrupted in a way that is not publicly visible. But none of the things people worried about like the electric grid, cell network, transportation, power plants seem to have been affected. So is cyberwarfare really just a minor concern if a country has basic defenses?

Sounds like you have bought into "attachment parenting". There is no real evidence that attachment parenting actually makes a difference.

The best time to give advice about the first 3 months is when your kids are 3 months old. After that, the kids change and parenting changes too and you're likely to forget what worked at age 3 months. Someone with 10 year old kids has probably forgotten a lot of what they figured out when the kids were babies.

Again, why should one LB resident get to decide what another LB business does? Just because this sort of restriction is common doesn't mean it's right.

What exactly is the problem with 8-9 high, or 20 high, or whatever the technical limit is? The land belongs to the port owners, why should anyone else be able to restrict how they stack containers?
