while i am on the side of the militant pro-Wikileaks, anti-DeepState, anti-Mass-Surveillance wing and i would happily volunteer to drive the bulldozer over the mass graves of the hundreds of thousands of Cleared Deep State personnel traitors, i don't have much of problem with the FBI querying DNA databases.

the scale of murderers who get away with it is shocking. so i can see the FBI's perspective towards bulk DNA searches and i agree that they should have the capability. murder is the number one priority crime which any law enforcement officer is dedicated to stopping. nothing like rampant unpunished murder devolves a society back to the stone age. just look at Mexico or Brazil or Pakistan or any of dozens of 3rd world "shit holer" nations where murder is just a way of life.
someone mentioned the distinction between mass surveillance where the FBI spies on the contents of your mind versus spying on the contents of your DNA which you leave behind. i have zero faith that the meathead Alpha Jock personality types comprising the FBI and Law Enforcement could apply a soft hand to figure out the correct balance to navigate mass surveillance and profiling based on the ambiguous contents of minds and the communication of thoughts, which is why i would never entrust them with the power like NSA has entrusted itself to wield. but when it comes to the formulaic TV show beat cop hunting down the killer in a simple world of black and white Good vs Evil, that is exactly what i want our Law Enforcement to spend the majority of their time doing.
i just don't see much overlap between the threat of mass surveillance and the threat of mass DNA searching. how is DNA a threat to political dissidents and Enemies of the State and general societal Rebels who Think Different? don't say "protests", because FBI already mass spies on everyone who goes to any protest. they know all of the cell phones that travelled to a protest or communicated with anyone at the protest, they know the license plates of your cars you drove to the parking lot 3 blocks from the protest, and they have the speech2txt of all of your phone calls to your friends whom you planned to attend the protest with. adding in DNA doesn't give the FBI any more than what they already had on you. and protests are not really a threat to anything, outside of immediate and temporal riots that might vandalize some property. protests are just a mechanism for society to vent, a controlled safety valve to give people the illusion of participation in a Byzantine political process wholly removed from them.
the only cross over between DNA and the contents of minds would be something like a secret political opposition figure publishing a manifesto and handing it out like Tom Paine handing out pamphlets in 1776, and then FBI pulling his DNA off the papers and looking up his 3rd cousins DNA markers to narrow down the universe of potential matches to identify him. but any new Tom Paine would have to know the FBI does DNA searches, and so he would not write his manifesto himself, but instead would pay 100 gig economy serfs on Fiver to each hand write one page and mail it to his suitably anonymized PO box.
