Why do gamers need protection? Games aren't essential resources. There's zero reason you have to buy a game that doesn't allow users to run servers. Why would you prevent gamers who don't care from buying these games?

Because you're using fibres laid years ago. Often pulse velocity isn't known to better than one part in 1000.

War games aren't useful for guessing the real course of the war. 'Iraq' was able to prevent a US invasion in pre 2003 wargames.

I once ran multiple bots on Ancient Anguish that would do simple quests for cash and follow other player to steal their gear if they dropped anything. The bots would then find my main and hand everything over.

The mods teleported my chars into a dungeon and virtually tortured them while trying to get me to admit one person was behind the lot.

There's a pitch clock now? So much for the Jamie Moyer rule that "the game doesn't start til I start it."

personal notes become cryptic team notes when you leave. If something ought to be team knowledge before that, it needs to get translated into a form that more people can easily read.

Because he's not either of those things. He's a self serving tyrant. He has no philosophy of governing the state because he doesn't care about governing the state.

They had bombs in Hezbollah pagers. At this point I'd need to be convinced mossad didn't know about thousands of hamas soldiers massed for an attack.

Trump had much superior social media targeting.

Muslims in Michegan were convinced Harris is a genocidal maniac, while most everybody else heard she was in bed with hamas.

Liberal suburban housewives heard she was a merciless prosecutor while others learned she was soft on crime.

"Hard" maybe the wrong word.

Tasks that are simple in most other languages, like a tree that can store many data types, are going to take a lot more code and a lot more thinking to get it to work in rust.

Generics and traits have some rough edges. If I rub up against them, they're really annoying. Otherwise, if I can avoid those then I agree with you that rust is smooth, and the trade off is worth it.

My feeling is that rust makes easy things hard and hard things work.
